Born and raised into adulthood in the suburbia of Southern California, U.S.A.... joined the ranks of corporate America in the automobile industry fresh out of traditional secondary educational systems and relocated, first to the Detroit-area briefly as an assistant manager, then ultimately held the position of port operations manager in Jacksonville, Florida. It was only after working those 23+ years and leaving CORPORATE AMERICA as a Logistics Manager, that I was introduced to PERMACULTURE and knew immediately that I would never work for a CORPORATION ever again and would spend the rest of this lifetime embracing, sharing and living permaculture ethics and principles. The concept simply resonated so deeply with my soul and who I am at the core, that I knew I had found the home/lifestyle/people I had been searching for my entire life.
I lived nomadically in my RV travel trailer in South Florida, it was in late 2009 that I received an e-mail from a friend introducing me to permaculture and advertising for two different PDCs to be held in two very different climatic environments: South Florida and The Lakota Indian Reservation of Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Not knowing where I would ultimately be putting-down firm-roots and desiring a climatic diversity in my permaculture training, I immediately registered for both courses. The initial Miami-based PDC I was attending needed to be cut short for me due to a personal situation. I did receive my full PDC International Certification during the two week long intensive under the tutelage of Warren Brush in South Dakota.
Following the receipt of my PDC certification, I continued my nomadic journey to my birth-land of California and attended several different permaculture-based workshops and events involving cob construction and other permaculture utilized technologies while there. Since that time I have volunteered and worked different permaculture projects and/or apprenticeships in the States of Utah, Kansas, Florida and Georgia U.S.A. I AM currently co-creating a eco-village / permaculture farm on the Senegalese Savannah.
