I'm a Permaculturist based in SF with experience in plant research and permaculture design and implementation at Hayes Valley Farm and several gardens in Oakland and Vacaville, California I have been maintaining for 7 years.
I got interested in permaculture after reading Tim Flannery's "The Future Eaters" I gained an interest in Indigenous Land Management which eventually led me to Permaculture; I finished the Permaculture series by 14 and began practicing the principles in my own community.
My main interest is underutilized plants in the Global South, "famine" crops, and the general Ethnobiology of Griqua, Cape Coloured and Khoisan-Decendant peoples of southern Africa; Mapuche and Fuegans of Chile; Lia Pootah of Tasmanian; and the various peoples in Highland agricultural regions of the world with a focus on Eastern and North-Eastern Africa.
Primarily focused on plants for subsistence and conducive for cottage industries as I want to get into economic empowerment for Women and other Gender minorities along with family nutrition in the future.
