I completed my PDC with Darrell Frey at Phipps in Pittsburgh in 2012. I have over twenty years in software development and nearly ten years in systems engineering.

I became aware of and increasingly interested in Permaculture through a podcast by Jack Spirko. On what seemed like a random afternoon in Feb 2012, I googled "permaculture pittsburgh" and found the Phipps PDC that was starting THE NEXT DAY! So I signed up and have been hooked ever since.

My current interests are in helping suburban home owners realize an edible, low-maintenance landscape through permaculture (starting with my own :-). Permaculture is fueling and reinforcing my passion for preparedness and self-reliance/-sufficiency and provides the perfect counterpoint to my skills as systems engineer.
