I've worked at an organic nursery for 14 years and for the last 8 years I have been the landscape/property manager for a 3 acre estate in Plano. I have been using mostly organic methods on the property and have gradually been converting the landscape to more native or drought tolerant plants. I have completed the Dallas County Master Gardener Course and have submitted my 100 volunteer hours for this year which will allow me to graduate in December 2013. My husband, John and I have also created a wildlife habitat/butterfly garden at our home and have almost completely removed all our lawn and replaced with native and drought tolerant plants.......and herbs and vegetables.
My interest in permaculture has been increasing because of my love for the earth and a desire to learn its secrets for growth and abundance. I want to learn to work with nature and not against it. To make this place a haven for humanity....as we tend and care for it, it returns the favor.
Presently I am in the education stages of permaculture, learning to recognize the patterns of nature so that I can create an environment that will use and increase its natural resources and share that knowledge with others.
