I was born in Queens, New York. My family would take month long camping trips every year which lead to my appreciation for the outdoors. I moved out West in 1982 and met my wife, Julie, in 1986 in Las Vegas. I have been an electrician for 20 years. I also have training as a solar installer but have not used it professionally.

In 2007, we purchased some land in Idaho and started researching different aspects of sustainable living which lead to discovering Permaculture. When my wife found out Bill Mollsion and Geoff Lawton were teaching a PDC in Melbourne in January of 2008. She said, "Wouldn't it be great to learn permaculture from these two?" I said, "Sure, we've always wanted to see Australia." I didn't realize she was serious until she told me she had registered us and booked the flight!

During our PDC we decided the perfect use for our farm would be to create a Permaculture demonstration site and educational center. We made the move to the farm a little over a year ago and have been working toward that goal.
