I was in Bristol, UK, in 2007, when the diagnosis of our predicament became clear. Searching for solutions, I started to read, reflect, and act, inspired by Permaculture and Transition concepts.
In January 2009, Vanessa and I created the Neighbour’s Things Shop, an urban permaculture good practice, a space for exchanging second hand and produced locally goods. It`s helping our Transition Initiative in Pombal and could be very important to the implementation of a local currency.
Also in January 2009, after my PDC, I started the Transição e Permacultura Portugal Social Network. The main goal is to create a smooth transition between the dominant way of life and a more permanent culture.
I believe it`s very important the link between Permaculture and Transition Initiatives, that I adopted as my mission. I feel having an inclusive approach, it`s the most effective way to build a culture that supports genuine happiness...
