I grew up in Somerset seeing my father leaning on a hoe, and eating garden fresh vegetables. Composting and recycling was normal.
In spite of gardening parents, after I left home to live in cities around the world, I grew nothing green till I met my wife. From her I learned about permaculture, and when we came to live in Australia I decided to learn more. That is how I happened upon permablitz (http://www.permablitz.net/).
I now on the Melbourne Permablitz collective, have helped start a local community garden, am part of a local government lobby group (my brief is urban agriculture), and am part of a local compost mates programme organised by Cultivating Community.
