About Joshua Konkankoh

I am Joshua Konkankoh, Ruling Council member of Global Ecovillage Networkand Director of Better World NGO www.betterworld-cameroon.com I am the brain behind the Ndanifor Community Garden Project created in 1996 in association with the Association of Unemployed Graduates of Cameroon. In 2005/6, I studied organic gardening and renewable energy at the Center for Alternative Technology (CAT) in Wales and my assistant Laura Atabe studied Permaculture at the Fambidzanai Permaculture Center In Harare and was certified by the International Permaculture Convergence IPC9 in Malawi.Together set up Ndanifor Eco Village Permaculture Transormative Land Learning Center for Sustainable Living in Cameroon and the West and Central African Region.
For over 12 years I have been pioneering approaches to sustainable sanitation, agro forestry and biodiversity conservation in Cameroon; and now I am making Ndanifor a vibrant action of combining indigenous knowledge systems with science. I am working with Better World project partners in Canada, Germany and UK, in association with related government departments to develop a new practically based curriculum that includes Ecological Horticulture, Climate workCamps, short courses in Permaculture, undergraduate/graduate and post graduate diploma program on Ecological Design.
I am on Permaculture Global to make a strong International Solidarity Appeal to Professional Permaculture Institutions of the North to reach out for pulling intentional communal interests in Africa.
