I come from a long lineage of farmers. It was how my grandpa, his father and his grandpa survived the Great Depression, and it was a skill that he believed I should learn from an early age.
I became interested in permaculture after moving to Florida and realizing that all my usda agricultural zone 7 style of gardening wasn't going to work in the sub tropics. A friend of mine heard about it and said I should look into it.
I started Fire of Hope in 2010 to teach the community and help convert homes over to urban homesteads. I have done many designs in the area for Food Forest Tarpon Springs, Earthship Florida, and several community gardens in the area as well as installed several permaculture landscapes in the area.
