i am a calgary based home designer. as such, i am currently a part of the housing problems we have in our world today. i prescribe blueprints to million dollar homes that ignore the natural features of our landscapes, conform to industrial sized regulations & standards and contribute to the monoculture of suburban sprawl. if that is not enough, we don't even consider, for the most part, our biggest ally in our northern climate, the sun. a home and it's windows could be an incredible asset to indoor food production and reducing our winter heating needs, but yet we are more concerned with windows that provide a view of the mountains or securing privacy from our community.

now, i don't have all the answers to our housing problems, but realizing and admitting our current way of constructing a home is flawed, was my first step to realizing that i am the problem, but i am also the solution.

i firmly believe that i cannot change the current way of doing things. so, i will forge ahead, on my own path that will lead me to the solutions that will help create a better human habitat.
