I am Originally from Belgium, but have been living the past 22 years in the Philippines, with occasional visits to Europe. In the past, I have visited projects in many other countries of the world and assisted in the conceptualization and promotion of permaculture projects in Latin America, Africa, Europe and South East Asia, particularly in the Philippines.
I am a product developer by profession who became interested in permaculture about 12 years ago. We were doing sustainable development projects all over the Philippines and lacked the framework to become truly sustainable. While looking for systems that really worked we bumped into permaculture as the framework that gave a holistic view on development work.
We set up Cabiokid foundation, a dynamic permaculture development site in the town of Cabiao in central luzon, the Philippines, where I am teaching permaculture throughout the year. We have several permaculture projects with native communities in the Philippines, in Mindanao, Luzon and Palawan. Together with Cabiokid we promote permaculture at the local governement level and implement it in several towns and provinces. Our permaculture projects are a mix of entrepreneurial activities, renewable energy projects, alternative building, forestry, organic agriculture and sustainable transport. In europe I network and cooperate with Permaculture initiatives and promote the framework among friends and interested parties.
