Hey friends!
After living and working in China for 8 years, the last 6 as a student, practitioner and teacher of applied ecology, permaculture and natural building, I'm back in Seattle.
I'm preparing to go back to grad school (again), this time to study Environmental Engineering. My previous work in permaculture design has introduced me to the wonderful world of green infrastructure. In my opinion, this is where urban permaculture and engineering meet.
My take on permaculture - it's a relearning of the ancient and intrinsic art of design; the practice of arranging earth, plants, animals, people and ideas to improve the interrelationships between them. In other words, it's using our natural brains and bodies to enhance ecological relationships in natural ecosystems. It's making nature better by being a part of it, intelligently.
