About Daniel Woolley

Daniel, alongside his wife Bena are the directors of their multidiscipline holistic design consultancy ‘GreenBridge – design & implementation. “We have been interested in environmental issues for as long as we both can remember”, with this strongly featuring while gaining their design degrees back in the early nineties from Victoria University in Wellington NZ.

With a bachelor degree in industrial design, Daniel has worked abroad as a designer in both Australia and London and for the seven years prior to moving to his wife’s home region of Taranaki - Daniel ran his own successful design & project management business ‘Hearth Ltd’ out of New Zealand's capital city Wellington.

With a drive to contribute more positively to society through their day-to-day work, Daniel and Bena spent 3-4 years retraining in the fields of sustainability, including extensive reading, research, numerous workshops and courses (including completing a Permaculture Design Certificate in 2011).

It was while developing their 10acre property in Taranaki that the frustration of having difficulty to access the required services to sustainably develop their property, that their business GreenBridge was born.

While writing this in 2017, five years after launching: GreenBridge - design & implementation is a multidisciplinary, holistic design consultancy focusing on the fields of Regenerative Landscapes, Healthy Architecture & Resilient Communities.

GreenBridge has a strong grounding in permaculture & environmental design and we also include the fields of: wastewater engineering, interior/furniture design and project management in our practice. Although we are always looking at ways of increasing our internal capacities, our real strength comes from our ability to effectively collaborate with a wide cross section of businesses and professionals, in order to meet the needs of our clients regardless of the project size.

“At GreenBridge we develop landscapes and buildings that work with nature, are healthy and that support community".

"We create inclusive and beautiful environments that are a joy to live in and that don’t cost the planet”.

Based in Taranaki, New Zealand our work spans a wide cross section of projects from: pre-purchase property reports and simple suburban edible garden designs, though to complete lifestyle block home & infrastructure design, farm resiliency and also urban pocket neighbourhood and co-housing design.

To give you some idea of what this means we spend our days doing, while writing this summary our current projects include: A lifestyle block overview, home and garden project; A suburban edible landscape and healthy home project; A small footprint three storey urban home project; A farm resiliency design and implement project; A new home wastewater project; A three home subdevelopment project; A 50sqm suburban new home project; A suburban edible landscape project; A part time rural income generation project; A rural permaculture design project; And the design of New Plymouth’s new Community Re-use and Recycle Centre for council.

“ What we are really doing, is providing services and forming the collaborations required, to make available holistic property solutions that make good uncommon sense”
