Originally from Christchurch, moving to Taranaki in 2003. Trained as a civil engineer but have primarily worked as a theatrical designer, production manager and web developer. Married with 2 children.
I've had a longstanding interest in sustainability, and discovered permaculture as a way to give focus to that in 2009.
Although we were originally planning an urban permaculture project - the development of two sustainable apartments on our section, we have now purchased 5,500m2 of bare land surrounded by native bush. It is at 430m above sea level and receives around 4000mm of rain annually, presenting some unique challenges.
I served on the national council of Permaculture in New Zealand Inc. from 2011 - 2013, and am an officer of the Katikara Eco Community Trust.
I have founded a web community for people interested in Intentional Communities in Aotearoa
We're now living across the road from our land.
