Hello people of the world, I am a simple person doing my best to be in accordance with our beautiful Mother Earth. In 2011, I left college in search of deeper meaning in life beyond the acquisition of material wealth. I ended up working at a homeless shelter called Dorothy's Place in Salinas, CA. It was an amazing experience, but I was devastated at the quality of food available for my friends on the street. Much of what we served was highly processed and nutritionally inadequate. We were in survival mode, not "thrival" (thriving) mode.
A friend of the shelter named Javier had a community garden down the street. I heard him talk about permaculture a couple of times and that got me researching. I read One-Straw Revolution and Sepp Holzer's Permaculture. I was hooked. I came back to Minnesota in 2012, took a PDC, and moved to Camphill Village Minnesota.
At Camphill (CVM), we practice biodynamic agriculture. We also are keen on permaculture here and holistic land management. It has been and continues to be a wonderful experience and I am so grateful for CVM. That said, I would still love to travel and see other Earth-friendly projects. Peace be with all of you.
