(projects i'm involved in)
After about two years of dedicated research and experimentation, I completed my PDC in February of 2013 in Thailand which was given by Mustafa Bakir from the Turkish Permaculture Institute. I then took my Permaculture Aid Workers Course from Geoff Lawton of the Permaculture Research Institute in June of 2013.
I came from an IT background (entirely self-taught) and found myself completely dissatisfied with how the world functioned. I decided to transition my career away from IT and into Permaculture in 2012. I was interested in international aide and took my last IT job with a Canadian aid organization who stationed me in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam. I founded Green Orchid in June 2013, and began a NGO for aide in June as well, then began teaching short workshops in Vietnam about composting, biochar and other PC skills.
Green Orchid Estates is located in Minca, Colombia in the beautiful tropical forested foothills of the Sierra Nevada range. Minca is known as an eco tourism hot spot and has an abundance of untouched native forests which we help conserve and showcase their natural beauty.
