I grew up in Hawaii. And ever since I was young I felt a need to help the environment against humanity's wanton destruction. However, as children often do, I did not appreciate the full complexity of our situation. I went along naively, trusting the U.S education system. At some point, i started feeling disheartened. Not only did I see little hope in that system for the future, i constantly felt that I was wasting my time and money. Eventually, I left with the simple desires of whatever I did, it would be done outside. That was when I discovered permaculture. I started saving up money doing farm and landscape work with the idea that I would go to Australia and study with Geoff Lawton.
I am now taking an internship with Geoff. I have plans of becoming a land developement consultant and helping with reforestation efforts in Hawaii, but right now I am still focusing on my education. I will be going to navdanya as well.
