Hola Amigos.

  We are happy to share that the rains have let up and we are headed into another wave of productivity, here at Finca Fruicion.  During the rains we had some wonderful volunteers, our toilet died, inspiring the creation of a composting toilet at Casa Fruicion, and we had a baby goat, Jason and Alana got married, and their son Cedar had his cleft pallete surgery.  :) 

  We are in the planning stages of hosting a PDC here this January!  It will be 2 weeks for the PDC, followed by a 1 week practicum.  Our volunteer program is already filling up and we are planning on more infrastructure.  Projects that are on the list for the coming months are finishing the earthen floor, earth bagging the solar shower and composting toilet, setting up the rabbit worm system, planting a goat garden, cobbing, and taking the garden to the next level of food production.  Next weekend we have a local Costa Rican organic farmer coming over to the farm to show us his tricks of the trade.  Our goal is to be as self suffient as we can by the end of 2012 and to have at least 1 more family living on the land with us.
