Originally German (don't hold that against me!), I've lived in the Middle East for over 4 years now and have adapted well. With an academic background in International Relations, Arabic language and Water Management, I've helped set up Jordan's first recycling company (Entity Green) over the past year and a half (the apparent lack of connection between studies and work shows only that Jordan is a land of many opportunities!). Although we've ventured into composting a bit, recycling is starting to show a severe lack of connection with natural, green, growing things for me...
After taking a PDC here in Jordan in late 2010 with Geoff Lawton, I decided that this is really what I wanted to be doing.
In the months after that, me and three colleagues had the chance to lead two projects here - building the first house on the PRI Jordan site (straw-bale & mud-brick) and "building" a forest in the desert. Both on voluntary basis. Now, while these are still going on, we're starting to look for new projects.
