Grew up in California, migrated to Illinois to live in community with like-minded, like-hearted folks. Shared in community gardens, coops, and educational life-long learning pursuits. Community Manager for 18 years.
Around 1997, read about Permaculture in a magazine, the name didn't sink in, but I decided no more carbon leaves my property. Build the soil. Keep it where it lands. Founded the non-profit, Center for Sustainable Community, in 2002 and brought in a PDC as one of the educational events. Got hooked. In 2007 my husband Bill and I started our fulltime business, Midwest Permaculture. I am a certified Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner, and a former Transition Town Trainer in the US.
Now, in 2017, we have offered over 72 PDC's, numerous shorter trainings, talks and design consulting. We are collaborating with our local non-profit to develop demonstration community gardens, food forests, water works, and our home as a suburban homestead. Spread this throughout the world!
