(projects i'm following)
My background mixes science and arts. I've always sought to create that balance, because I couldn't see fixed boundaries between subjects and areas of knowledge. In high school I chose the path of science, to then shift my atention to design in my college years(after a year taking a psychology in the University of Lisbon, I then moved back to Beja to enrole an Art&Multimedia course in the Plitecnic Institute of the city), and got introduced with design approaches.
I found the term 'Permaculture' by chance, and realised that it made a lot of sense. I still question myself: "How is it possible that not so many people thinks like this?". It was perfect fit with my own value structure and my approach to project design.
Right now I'm part of a transition inspired group: "Eco-Comunidades na Planície", based in Alentejo, Portugal.
I'm also doing research (together with a Biologist, José Cravo) in an 1 acre property, trying to create a agro-ecological reference model for food production, specific for the climate in central Alentejo.
I intend to immerge my community in the noble values of Permaculture, enabling all of us to thrive in autonomy, happyness and resilience.
