I have gardened since I was a child. The same type of vegetable garden that my mother, grandmother and so has since we came to this country. I have just started adding more long term plants to my property. I live on 3 acres of well drained land that drains from the back of my property to the front. It is good dirt that takes very little amending of the soil. Parts have had horses on it the rest has been mowed will grass clippings and leaves left in place. It has had little pesticides, herbicides or other fertilizer added.
I am also a 5th grade teacher and teaching plants, ecosystem and impacts on the environment is part of my Science curriculum. I would like to pass on a sustainable future to my students.
