Back to Caribbean PRI of Barbados (CPRIB)
Project: Caribbean PRI of Barbados (CPRIB)
Posted by Lorraine Ciarallo about 12 years ago
The Master Plan for the Caribbean Permaculture Research Institute (CPRI) has been endorsed by PRI Australia, and the Agricultural Ministry of Barbados, but now it needs to assemble a dynamic PRI team in order to make it materialize.
A qualified PRI Teacher and Administrator with strong admin skills are required to move this amazing project forward. Dedicated individuals need apply. International funding is the key and together, through the collaboration of our efforts, we can make this happen.
Is this for you?
Are you the committed type?
Are you looking for a new challenge in life?
How about a not too shabby salary with perks such as room and board?
Would you like to pack up for three years and head to the sunny tropical island of Barbados in the Caribbean and help create a PRI Master Plan Demonstration Site?
Would you like to create real sustainable change and improve the lives of thousands of people?
Are you up to it?
Helping individuals learn how to create food security and return their lives to some degree of self-reliance can be very rewarding. If you are interested and hold the necessary qualifications, please read the Caribbean Permaculture Research (CPRI) recent post and send you resumes or bio links to [email protected]
Potential applicants will receive a copy of the business plan for review.
Looking forward to talking with you soon.

Note: The various badges displayed in people profiles are largely honesty-based self-proclamations by the individuals themselves. There are reporting functions users can use if they know of blatant misrepresentation (for both people and projects). Legitimacy, competency and reputation for all people and projects can be evidenced and/or developed through their providing regular updates on permaculture work they’re involved in, before/after photographs, etc. A spirit of objective nurturing of both people and projects through knowledge/encouragement/inspiration/resource sharing is the aim of the Worldwide Permaculture Network.

PRI TeacherWith the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable. PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows. |
