Great news for the project!
After the team submitted a detailed project proposal back in August, we finally received notice from the Permanent Sectretary of the Minister of Agriculture yestersay, agreeing with our design plan for a demonstration site and educational centre on 15 acres.
We are fully charged and excited to imnplement our design plan, integrating water harversting systems, and demonstrating biological farming techniques that increase soil fertility and topsoil levels through the fabrication and applications of Bio-Vital. To learn more about it, visit Paul Taylor at (http://trustnature.com.au/).
We will provide outstanding PDC's and Internship courses in the beautiful Caribbean by a passionate and professional teacher/instructor, Kenton Zerbin of Canada. Through the demonstation of our educational centre and our demonstration site plus, so much more we have planned, many people of all ages will benefit.
It is up to us to demonstate how effective permaculture transforrms landscapes and communities, creates food security and increases biodiversity on many holistic levels. Permacultrue is new to the island, but we have great plans to build trusting relationships, demonstrating honesty and integrety, all that we are about!
We are getting very close now and the next step, is having our technical UNDP grant application going before the National Steering Committee mid-Novermber and I think, the odds are in our favor. This project is receiving many blessings for which we are grateful!
Anyone interested in volunteering on this amazing project should have some permaculture educational background. Please send email inquries to [email protected]
Looking forward to sharing and working with you!
Thank you so much!
Sincerely,
Lorraine

Note: The various badges displayed in people profiles are largely honesty-based self-proclamations by the individuals themselves. There are reporting functions users can use if they know of blatant misrepresentation (for both people and projects). Legitimacy, competency and reputation for all people and projects can be evidenced and/or developed through their providing regular updates on permaculture work they’re involved in, before/after photographs, etc. A spirit of objective nurturing of both people and projects through knowledge/encouragement/inspiration/resource sharing is the aim of the Worldwide Permaculture Network.

PRI TeacherWith the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable. PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows. |
