Last Saturday the first Kalen workshop, Permaculture in Action - field observation, was held under great conditions. Not only the weather gods were with us, so were 14 enthusiastic adults, all eager to get involved in Permaculture, and 2 kids and a dog, eager to observe and enjoy everything nature had to provide at that moment.
The first workshop was a good opportunity to meet like-minded people and to make our first steps to gain some essential Permaculture skills.
During this workshop the basic concept to come to a Permaculture design was explained and we all started the practical exercise about observing the present conditions of the land and its surrounding. This exercise was concluded by a round up of impressions where valuable remarks and suggestions were shared to provide the ground base for the next steps into land development.
Apart that this workshop was a useful first step, it was very enjoyable as well. On the end of the workshop we shared home-made food and tea made by some of the participants. There was eagerness for a follow up soon, so we are thinking on having the next workshop coming Saturday.
