About Jennifer Dauksha English

I love Permaculture and bring the principles and ethics into just about every aspect of my life. This holistic perspective really enables me to consciously design my life. I feel blessed to have access to so many amazing tools and resources, including this permacultureglobal.org social networking site!

Here's my professional bio:
Jennifer Dauksha-English works as an instructor, facilitator, designer, project manager and consultant in regenerative and healthy lifestyles, participatory community and business design, applied Permaculture and yoga. Jennifer holds an N.D. and a M.S. in Natural Health, a BA in Cultural Anthropology and Environmental Studies, a Diploma in Wildlife Management, a Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Eco-Social Design, and 15 years experience leading projects and non-profits in the alternative health and environmental sectors. Jennifer serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Holistic Ecology, and as Executive Officer of Solar Springs Permaculture, LLC. Jennifer is a certified Permaculture instructor, Yoga instructor and grant writer.

Jennifer’s work currently engages her most with Gaia University, where she acts as project manager for the development of a Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design and a Certification in Action Learning. She is the Advisor of 22 Gaia University Associates and the Founder, Director and lead Instructor of the Gaia Southeast Regional Center. Through the Center for Holistic Ecology, Jennifer organizes courses and teaches Permaculture Design and Financial Permaculture. She also works as a founding member and volunteer of Transition Town Hohenwald, and the (TN) Green Living Journal.

Jennifer's past experience:

Professional - 2004-2007 Program Director of The Farm Communities, Ecovillage Training Center and Development Director of the Global Village Institute for Appropriate Technology; 2001-2007, vegetarian gourmet cook at Graybear Holistic Retreat Center; 2001, Herbal Researcher at Osas Garden; 2000-2001, paid intern at Crystal Organic Farms; 1999-2001 Environmental Educator for the GA Department of Natural Resources; 1997-1998, Customer service at The Healthy Grocer; 1997 paid intern with herbalist.

A bit more personal:
I learned that you just have to do it. To insist it from yourself. Don't depend on other people to color your world. You paint your own picture.

I love to be fully engaged! I'm inspired to be alive! I seek to live my values, express my passions and create my dreams. I view the world through energy, whole systems, patterns and cycles. I play with shifting and adapting. I relish diversity. I feel the suffering of the world and I use that to propel me into applied action. To stay empowered, I balance my intensity with a lot of compassion, self care and regenerative holistic healing.

My current interests have been in Martial Arts, Yoga, Dance, Action Learning, Social Networking, Graphical Design, Holacracy, Archetypical Personification, Kayaking and Business Development. My partner Matthew and I live in a naturally built off-grid lodge on a Permaculture Farm, that we began designing and building ourselves in 2004.
