After completing my PDC in 1995, I began teaching related topics in numerous Community houses, in 2002 I quit my job to become a fulltime Consultant and then came running PDC's and in 2009 I gained my APT Diploma of Permaculture (19units) at Eltham College, I then helped establish the Diploma at Eltham College.
While convener of the Heritage fruits Group I initiated this group to become a Society and HFS inc started in 2008, with so many people requesting hard to get fruit trees and old heritage varieties Silvia & I opened our fruit tree nursery in 2008, selling hundreds of varieties from our personal collection of over 1000 fruiting plants.
In 2010 I assisted to begin the "Our Patch" project at Box Hill TAFE with our own site we have built the beds and soils, grown produce to use in the kitchens and in our shop at the TAFE, this has seen many students do certificate units in Hort & Hospitality.
We have recently opened our Farm shop at home in Monbulk Vic. to compliment the Nursery and we sell produce from the farm as well as cheap straw & trees. We run Cheese making & cider/Fruit wine making classes from the farm plus much more in our 2 classrooms.
Our PDC is now 147 hrs with Govt funding and gives 2 certificates helping students get closer to formal Qualifications ( if they need & want them) see more at www.petethepermie.com
