Permaculture Design Portfolio

Our never up to date design portfolio (only 180 odd designs at this stage) is where we put any new designs and a lot of our old work

Permaculture Design Portfolio

This part of our PhotoLog goes right back to the start in 1993 when I started out as a 24 year old on this Permaculture Design journey. I have a stack of new material to put up having just cleaned out the shed where I stored all the hardcopies of my designs from the 90's, starting off with the hand-draughted stuff right through to when we started doing digital designs. I would love to get these all on-line though as many of these are A1 and AO size this will take a bit of work.

Our main intention with this archive is to show up and coming designers, and indeed those that have been around the block what our broadacre work looks like, to stimulate the raising of standards of design output and show how simple layouts should actually be if they are to be real and in fact realised: which should always be the objective.

Yours & Growing,

Darren Doherty

Kalinya Farm : Hi Darren,

I was wondering where you get your PVC Baffle plates and concrete thrust plates from, that I saw in your picasa portfolio photos?

Darren J. Doherty : G'day, Thanks for the note Joel. The PVC baffle plates I get made locally. These are not my ideal solution as neither is PVC: I would much prefer to use PE all round but $$ gets in the way most times...Concrete thrust blocks I make in situ using some bags of redimix, some weldmesh, and ply with the 4" hole cut out (jigsaw) plus a few stakes for the formwork. You could use these along the pipe as baffles except you usually don't have that much time as the machines are ticking over at this point! I haven't done it yet but you could also use conveyor belt as well for baffles as done in this photo:https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/lKq2HSvqRgNBduSdUGFHRg?feat=directlink Anyways all the best with you and your work...Ciao, Darren
