I am a spinner/weaver, knitter and gardener. I have raised silk for my own use in the past. I have a BA in Art and a BS in computer drafting. I have drawn maps for engineers by hand and on the computer.
I was introduced to Permaculture at a display at the Kerrville Folk Festival at Quiet Valley Ranch in Texas. Because P. makes complete sense, I had to learn more about it. I took two design courses and at Easter 2008 attended the Permaculture Convergence in Sydney, NSW, AU. Before the conference I toured David Holgrem's Victoria property and saw firsthand how he did things. I had several one-on-one chats with many of the authors I had read.
I never miss a chance to tell people about Permaculture. I have found few people in my area who have even heard the word. My main tool seems to be example. I invite anyone interested to tour my garden and discuss what is going on it it. I open my extensive P. library of books and DVDs to anyone in the area who wants to learn more.
The quality of the Teachers' Training was exceptional. The setting was an intentional community 50 miles or so south of Chicago, Illinois, USA.
