Having grown up in rural Oklahoma all I ever really knew about farming was spray this, fertilize that, till this, kill that. But after a google search to find out what the word permaculture meant I found The Survival Podcast and Jack Spirko and was immediately a huge fan. I found that I agreed with a lot of what he had to say on the subject of Permaculture among other things. Apparently a monster was hatched because up until the spring of this year I had looked up and read everything I could get my hands on regarding permaculture and sustainability. I consider folks like Mollison, Lawton, Falk, Hemenway and Spirko my teachers. Thanks guys.
I graduated from the PRI Online PDC on August 18th 2014 and I am ready to get to work making changes to the way people look at the world around them one property at a time.
So far I have designed one property, Dynamite Farms in Nowata Oklahoma and I plan to do a few more before I really get busy designing my own 20 acre property Off Kilter Acres. I hope this will one day turn into my full time job but as it sits now I will continue on with my 9 to 5 job as a graphic designer/prepress tech.
