Thanks to Simone ed Elena http://brianzorigeni.blogspot.com/ the compost toilet is finished,we hope in a brilliant future!!
The finished compost toilet using reused materials.
It is very important today to understand that using flush toilets using fresh water
is not civilized. This is because the availability of fresh water is in decline all over the world. Thanks to polluttants in fresh water courses and the melting of glaciers that are invaluable reservoirs.
The foundation of the compost toilet from left: Elan,Iris,Pietro Simone ed Elena.
Everyday we use 22 litres of freshwater per person to flush our toilets and
we flush toilets 2500 times a year. (Chemicallygreen.com)
The toilet's roof
1.2 bilion people has not access to fresh water
67% of households around the world get water outside the house
The increase in percentage of fresh water worldwide in the 21st century will be 0%
25 milion people die every year for water borne illnesses ,60%are children.
(Der Spiegel,May 25,1992. Annals of Earth,Vol.8,N.2,1990.US EPA (1996)Wastewater Treatment:Alternatives to Septic Systems,US Environmental protection agency,Region 9,Drinking Water Program.)
In the western world, after we defecate in fresh water and after we flush our fecis,we don't care where our fecis will end it up,we don't care.
This is our culture and our reletionship with our fecis.
We don't think that the water even after being purified can be contaminated by antibiotics and metals.
We don't see our fecis as a resource, like the compost toilet that transform humanure in nutrients for plants for example but we see it like something to be washed away.
Simone check if everything is working.

Note: The various badges displayed in people profiles are largely honesty-based self-proclamations by the individuals themselves. There are reporting functions users can use if they know of blatant misrepresentation (for both people and projects). Legitimacy, competency and reputation for all people and projects can be evidenced and/or developed through their providing regular updates on permaculture work they’re involved in, before/after photographs, etc. A spirit of objective nurturing of both people and projects through knowledge/encouragement/inspiration/resource sharing is the aim of the Worldwide Permaculture Network.
MemberA member is a permaculturist who has never taken a PDC course. These cannot become PDC teachers. Members may be novice or highly experienced permaculturists or anywhere in between. Watch their updates for evaluation. |
|
Permaculture MatchmakerOne of these badges will show if you select your gender and the "I'm single, looking for a permaculture partner" option in your profile. |
|
PDCPeople who claim to have taken a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) course somewhere in the world. |
|
PDC VerifiedPeople who have entered an email address for the teacher of their PDC course, and have had their PDC status verified by that teacher. Watch their updates for evaluation. |
|
PRI PDCPeople who’ve taken a Permaculture Research Institute PDC somewhere in the world. |
|
PDC TeacherPeople who claim to teach some version of PDC somewhere in the world. |
|
PRI TeacherWith the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable. PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows. |
