Permaculture research and collaboration

Looking for NGOs partners to evaluate the impact of permaculture on small farmers

I'm developing assess the impact of permaculture on small farmers. I'm hoping to partner with permaculture/agroecology NGOs to investigate the impacts of involvement with permaculture on smallholder food security, climate resilience, and social networks.

What organizations might make good research partners for this project? Our approach will involve identifying 4-5 permaculture-identified farms, and comparing them with similar non-permaculture farms, on the basis of a small number of key indicators. The specific indicators will be developed in a participatory process, but will certainly include some measures of yield, diversity, and soil health.

I'm currently writing grants to fund this project, while I try and develop the regional connections that will make the work possible. Some portion of any funding will (of course) be earmarked for partners and participants.

Are you aware of NGOs who do good work, and for whom this might be desirable project?

Your ideas are greatly appreciate. Thanks for all your good work and your time, everyone!

Ernest Rando
Ernest Rando : I am Co-Founder of www.FreshTasteAquaponics.com a for-profit new aquaponics farm in Chenoa, Illinois. I help raise Tilapia at our nursery farm in Bloomington Illinois and our main farm in Chenoa we have about 30,000 Fishies of various ages. We use a raft system for growing annuals and perennials and I am experimenting with growing a wetland in a 90'by 8' raft 1' deep. I know we are not a non-profit but I think this would be a great research opportunity as I am focusing on edible wetland plants most of which have seeds and tubers that are edible and storable. Feel free to contact me my personal contact info is on my website.
