Carolyn Payne-Gemmell : Hi Oscar, see if you can gather up lots of things to mulch the soil, paper, cardboard, leaves, small twigs, dry grass, straw, it will help hold water as well as breed lots of soil life, worms, microbes and fungi. When the plants are finished and the beans are harvested cut the stems off at ground level and lay the plants back onto the ground. What you do after that depends on the next crop, but you will not need to plough again. It is a large area to have just one type of crop only. For your next crop try alternating rows of two or three different things. Carolyn
