Creative Community Facilitation in Taiwan

The first Creative Community Facilitation course in Taiwan commenced Mon 18th April in the indigenous village of Dulan on the east coast.

Thirty three-plus partipcipants from all parts of Taiwan, Beijing, Hong Kong, USA and Canada are unleashing their creativity in facilitating participatory community processes. The course is being conducted in the coastal village of Dulan near Taidung on the east coast of Taiwan with Robyn Francis as trainer/facilitator.

The course explores a wide range of innivative, creative and effective tools for community process to facilitate transition initiatives, bioregional and community development, participatory decision making and education.

Next Creative Comunity Facilitation course will be held at Djanbung Gardens,  in August 2011.

With the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable.

PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows.
