An ecologist by background, I have worked as a Permaculture designer, practitioner, consultant and trainer for the last 8 years. I established and directed Ethiopia’s first Permaculture demonstration and training site on degraded land in Konso (Strawberry Fields Eco Lodge: http://www.permalodge.org/). Since 2007 I have facilitated a total of 34 Permaculture design courses in the roles of convener, lead trainer and co-trainer (working with trainers such as Rosemary Morrow, Tichafa Makovere and Rhamis Kent). Having also made several trips to the Permaculture Research Institute (PRI) site in Jordan to train with PRI director Geoff Lawton. I was awarded recognition as an accredited PRI trainer and consultant in 2012 and have since delivered trainings to clients such as the Ethiopian Red Cross Society, the Daughters of Charity and site-design consultancy to the German Foundation Antonia Ruut Shciftung (which funds the establishment of community water, wash and food production centres in Shashogo Woreda, south Ethiopia). In April 2014 I lead an international PDC at the PRI’s Greening the Dessert Sequel Site in the Jordan Valley and another in May 2014 at Marrakesh Organics in Morocco. In December 2014 i spent a month helping out on the farm at the PRI Australia and in January 2015 lead a 5 day course there "Permaculture for Development Aid". In February 2015 i lead a PDC in Malaysia as well as a 3 day practical workshop on Permculture techniques.
