The Landshare model is out of the UK, and has been a small revolution in domestic to small-scale commercial land access. It's a very simple idea: those with spare land can offer it to folks who want land to grow stuff on: whether it be 2 square feet, or 20 acres.
And anyone with a buring desire to try their hand at growing stuff who doesn't have land to do it on, can make a connection and an agreement, and get growing!
The UK portal offers a range of sample contracts (so everyone's clear on the arrangement) and has grown to be a hub of discussion about all things good, green and growing.
I've been a bit impatient to see the Aussie version up and running but it's finally here, so this is a little shout-out to spread the word. The Australian site has the basics up now, and will be expanded over the coming months
As with anything (including PermacultureGlobal) Landshare Australia will depend on a critical mass of interest to be truly viable. I hope it can be. I think it has the potential to be a truly useful tool in creating community resilience and abundance.
So please tell your friends and sign up yourself, Aussies!
