(projects i'm following)
I think it was when I was studying music in Mexico that I first thought about opening an Open Source School, where people that has low or no income just come in and exchange services for education. I feel closer every day to that project thanks to this wonderful tool-box that Permaculture has been to me.
When I was on my last year of high school I got in love with music but I have always been surrounded by friends that are either healers or doctors, that is when I learn how to teach vocal technique, which I spice with Reiki, Yoga, Music Therapy and digital audio recording. I studied also culinary technique in Ecuador in 2010 at the Asociación de Chefs de Ecuador. I worked for a Mexican events company in Germany and I am building a Permaculture touristic-demonstration-educational project in México. For all this I go with one of the resilience principles: one element perform many functions.
In December 2011, I acquired a piece of land in Drylands Hot-arid in Guanajuato, Mexico. I started planting organic and next thing I found myself surrounded with Permaculture and water harvesting books. At that time I started to experiment on paper and on the plot back in Mexico. Since then I spend every winter adding features to it. (see a copy of my project document here: http://linkedin.com/pub/oscar-torres/a0/89b/b26)
In 2013 I got my Permaculture Design Certificate by Geoff Lawton, and that was when the fun started. Simply by changing the way I see the problem: as a solution and of course by building community.
