Amazing swales do their work

Posted by francine chanover almost 12 years ago

after 404 mill of rain the swales worked a dream

So within a month of puttibng in our swales , We received 404 mill of rain in 3 days... I started to worry the swales may overflow onto the berms and upon investigating and  some passive pickwork to move 2 swales into a different direction, the swales worked perfectly.

The swales stayed full for a day and within a few days dried up

The best part was the reason the swales went in,,,, because during floods gthe road to the main road is too muddy and inaccessible. Yet the whole time it rained we had full access to the main road thanks to the water catchment and water saving of our first 5 swales...

PLans are on their way for some more
