Life has been full on with spring that it has been hard to update web-site and virtual realities along with emails as the call of nature pulls us to be outside and in the earth with community.
We have just begun another TTC here in Central California with 14 participants at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur. Everyone who shows up for these trainings continues to amaze me with their depth and knowledge they are bringing to the table. From the PDC recent grad to professionals with 30+yrs of experince in their field, we have the diversity in our spectrum. Feels good to know this calibur of people are on my team.
This weekend has also been a national day of action across the US as the 350 home and garden challenge had 1000's of events schedules in home gardens, local buissinesses and community hubs. From greywater systems to tree planting, people participated in this national campaign supported by Transition US. We started a Teacher's traing and participated with planting in the gardens at the Gazebo preschool and the foundation of an earthern oven.
The Second Southern California Permaculture Convergence drew over 150 people together for three days in the hills north of Malibu to network and share skills as well as just simple connect and meet each other. A number of us traveled from the greater north to build alliances. In July the Bay Area PC convergence will be happening and in September the Northwest convergence will be held in Portland.
In all these gatherings we are hoping to continue to navigate these times of great change. It is not so necessary to define Permaculture to others, and spend the time and energy to explain that which is intrinsic in our own nature, Better yet it is most important to just start doing and do it well, so as others can see what we are trying to achieve. Hopefully this will inspire others to do the same.
More soon to come, I will do a better effort in giving reports from this fun filled dynamic place on the planet. Looking forward!
