This month I had the pleasure to visit a really cool farm in Panama. Its called Finca Perezosos and means Lazy Mans Farm in spanish. The owner John first came to Panama with the PeaceCorps. Now he owns a edible food forest with a river thats runs on the edge of it. The food dorest is only 3 years old and they are already harvesting bunches of bananas. They have some tropical staple crops such as cassava, banana, coconut, and interplant with balo Gliricidia sepium a nitgrogen fixing shrub. John is well known for his huge cassava harvests and his "majic circle" where you fertilize plants with a pit full or basura or organic waste. While I was there we did an impromptu demonstration on chop and drop mulching on annual vegetable beds.
