I'm very excited to attend the Bamboo Building and Biogas Workshop being offered in Columbia this December. I'll be learning how to build with one of the most ecologically sound building material there is! Bamboo has been used in construction for centuries, easy to work with, suitable for all types of structures, non-polluting, light, resistant to earthquakes and a renewable resource. We will begin this learning experience by building a complete bamboo cabin for the eco-hostel. After, we will set off on a journey to explore some of Colombia’s most pristine lands as we dive into the principles of Permaculture with Marcus Thomson of Permaculture Miami. In the final days we will design and create a bio digester for the bamboo cabin. This process allows for gas production which can be used for cooking, lights, power and heating the home and water.
