Join us for the Permaculture Immersion Course in Orlando January 3-6 at the Econ Farm.
The Permaculture Immersion Course is something new we are offering and will be like a mini Permaculture Design Course but totally interactive and hands on with little to no lecture. The curriculum for day 1 will be a tour, site survey, plant identification, and a medicinal plant activity. Day 2 will be a Food Production Intensive planting seeds, cultivating, harvesting, and preparing foods, Day 3 we will be building a Bamboo structure in the woods by the river, and day 4 we will making a design for the eco-village we are creating here. Other activities may include mushroom inoculation, building a solar oven, making fermented foods or beer, composting, and plant propagation. Our teachers bring their experience to the table to help students best design and integrate the dynamic components of a sustainable lifestyle.
The Econ Farm is a permaculture homestead with the mission of being a living model of sustainability. As a well-established yet ever evolving 10-year-old site, The Econ Farm is an excellent working classroom for the development of hands-on skills. You will learn about living off the grid, grow food in the garden, foraging for wild edibles, tending a fruit orchard, building alternative structures, solar power, community living, worm composting, humanure, whole foods and nutrition, cooking and more. This all-inclusive 4-day immersion program includes workshops, organic meals, and on-site camping.
Fee: $350 per person
